Hey What’s Up: Facebook App Center Hits India, And What Else?

Games like Farmville, Fishville, Cityville etc had been famous amongst Indian users till now. Even you would have added applications like “Marriage predictions”, “are you interested”, “Texas Holdem Poker”, “Birthday Albums”, “Luck Daily” etc. And guess what, now fans across India can access more apps as Facebook launched it App Center in India.

Previously Facebook app center was launched in the U.S and recently it launched its App Center in India and 6 other countries like Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, Australia and Ireland. And further Facebook is planning to launch its App Center in Brazil, Russia, Spain, France, Turkey, Taiwan and Germany, soon.

Now users can meddle around with over 600 apps from Facebook’s app center, especially the games crazy people. These apps can also be accessed via iOS and Android devices. This is cool move by the company to impress over 425 million monthly users who access Facebook via mobile.

Therefore, Facebook has opened a new way to increase its revenue rather than letting its users to download apps from other companies.

Facebook’s Aaron Brady announced this news earlier on Facebook developers blog, saying:

“Today, we’re announcing the App Center, a new place for people to find social apps. The App Center gives developers an additional way to grow their apps and creates opportunities for more types of apps to be successful”

Facebook App store has popular applications like Draw Something, Pinterest, Nike+ GPS, Stitcher Radio, Ubisoft Ghost Recon Commander and many more. The app center will offer high quality apps which will be categorized by user demands. Moreover users can find out their friends who are also using a particular app. Facebook App Center can be accessed, which is on the left side of the home page.

How Facebook App Center could be an advantage to Mark :

• Firstly, as India is the top 3rd Facebook country, the engagement time most probably can increase gradually.
• It will be an indirect brand promotion, when a user accesses a particular app like Texas Holdem poker by Zynga.
• It could be a threat for the time being spent on Google’s App Store, as users can now directly access Facebook’s App center. Moreover malware issues related to the android app is increasing day by day.

Eventually, such a large audience could help Facebook to regain its loosing grips on market. But Facebook need to constantly watch over any possible malware issues that might be a problem for its app center.
