Only 33% Want To Shift To Windows 8 Compare To 66% While Windows 7 Release In 2009

When you buy a new device, first few days always be haphazard to understand functions, features and usability. If a simple device transformation could cause such level of trouble and damage of few days’ productivity, think of corporate when they scale up their whole system one environment to another. And, that why most of the companies have turned their back from any plans to upgrade to Windows 8 OS.

A recent report of WSJ citing findings of Forrester Research claims that only 33% of companies are looking forward to upgrade their current OS environment to Windows 8 after the release. However, the figures were much lucrative in 2009 at the time of Windows 7 release when 66% of companies showed their commitment to upgrade.

In fact, the Skip decision of upgrade ratio has grown up by 10 folds compare to Windows 7. Around 10% companies have planned to skip the upgrade at all. However, this could be due to nature of complications involved in upgrade but it’s a real setback for Microsoft anyhow.

Challenges For Windows 8 Upgrade

Probably the biggest challenge which is keeping companies away from Windows 8 upgrade is a recent report that claimed Microsoft Windows 8 coming in the form of an unfinished product. Though, as a nature of practice, Microsoft always comes up with service pack of its newly built app, this time also company is showing desperation for early launch of Windows 8 by scheduling many enhancements for next roll-out. Definitely, for companies it would not be an ideal move to adopt any product which could have some possibilities of bugs and errors from the very first day.

Interestingly, back in December 2009, another research firm IDC also reported that Windows 8 could possibly fail to impress enterprise customers – which are further a great challenge for Microsoft to win over.

Microsoft inexperience in Tablet segment is also one of the major concern for many of individuals and companies as well. And, they have opted the strategy t wait and watch till the product doesn’t reach to a post-release stabilization stage.
